Good Team Work!
Christine Hardin and Linda Conley recently visited the Arktura showroom and factory located in Gardena, CA. Arktura (www.arktura.com) is a young and upcoming company servicing the design community with manufacturing standard and custom unique architectural and furniture products. The products are offered in metal, wood or plastic and can be used for interior and exterior applications.
Meeting with Arktura’s principals and their company’s sales representative, Christine and Linda reviewed and discussed preliminary design ideas for a current project in the Bay area. We look forward to co-creating exciting interior environments with Arktura!

Furniture Arrives!
Finally it’s time for the furniture installation in portions of the new Student Union building at San Jose State University. The Los Angeles office of Perkins and Will is the Project Architect and O’connor Construction Management is managing the construction. The installations will be phased in lock-step with each completed phase of construction. Belinda Majors, joined by the CM, recently toured the project to see the progress and check the installation against the drawings, specifications and approved design. It’s looking good!
Linda Conley recently walked the job site with the Kaiser PM and the Pankow team. PDA is proud to bring you this update on our latest collaboration with HKS Architects!
The construction for the Kaiser Cerritos MOB began in June of 2013 and is progressing quickly towards completion in March 2014. The existing two-story building is being completely renovated to house the departments for Outpatient Imaging, Womens’s OB/GYN Clinic, Blood Draw/Lab facilities, Primary Care andPediatric Clinic. Pankow Contractors are currently installing the finishes for the floors, walls, lighting and casework.
Stay tuned for future updates!
This holiday season PDA’s donation to Heifer International will result in the purchase of Biogas Stoves, Clean Water and Women’s Empowerment for a community in need. This is made possible through the continued support of our clients, colleagues, friends and family. Thank you and Happy Holidays!
Cooking Up a Healthier Planet
For most families in the places where Heifer International works, cooking usually means gathering firewood by hand, and often leads to soil depletion and deforestation. Smoke inhalation in poorly ventilated homes often leads to chronic respiratory and eye diseases. But a biogas stove runs off methane gas captured from animal waste. It burns cleanly, reliably and efficiently.
Clean Water
Millions of people around the world still lack access to clean drinking water. Heifer helps, many families install treadle pumps, practice water conservation and use organic fertilizers to protect drinking water to improve their health.
Women’s Empowerment
Women’s Empowerment will help women who have few resources and little self-esteem bring new energy, ideas, jobs and change to their families and their communities. This gift provides training and assistance so that mothers will be able to work and become self-sufficient. They will be able to afford to send their children to school, pay medical bills and lift themselves out of hunger and poverty.
